Latest Puducherry Judicial Service Civil Judge Exam Syllabus 2023 – Puducherry Judicial Service has released exam pattern/ scheme and syllabus for preliminary and main examinations of Civil Judge Post. Puducherry Judicial Service has released notification for the recruitment of Civil Judge and announced 19 vacancies for the post. Candidates who have applied and going to apply for the recruitment may download the exam pattern and syllabus from the Chennai High Court Website (mhc.tn.gov.in).

As per the announcement, Preliminary Exam will be conducted on 03.06.2023. Main Exam will be conducted on 05.08.2023 and 06.08.2023. Civil Judge Selection process involves Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Viva-voce Test.
Details of Puducherry Judicial Service Civil Judge Exam Pattern & Syllabus
Preliminary Exam Pattern:-
- Objective Type (OMR Method).
- Maximum Marks – 100.
- 1 mark will be awarded for every right answer.
- 0.10 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Passing Marks for SC/ ST – 30, OBC – 35 & Others – 40.
- Total time duration is 3 hours.
- Questions will be in English.
Preliminary Exam Syllabus:-
- Part A
- The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
- The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
- The Transfer of Property Act, 1882.
- The Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- The Specific Relief Act, 1963.
- The Constitution of India.
- The Puducherry Buildings (Lease and Rent Control) Act, 1969.
- Part B
- The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
- The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
- The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act.
- The Criminal Minor Acts (including Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
- Part C
- General Knowledge (Degree standard).
- Test of Reasoning and Mental ability (S.S.L.C. standard).

- Descriptive Type.
- Four Papers.
- Each paper has 100 marks and time duration of 3 hours.
- Translation Paper – 100 Marks.
- Law Paper I – 100 Marks.
- Law Paper II – 100 Marks.
- Law Paper III – 100 Marks.
- Passing Marks for SC/ ST – 30, OBC – 35 & Others – 40.

- The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.

- Principles of Pleading and The Constitution of India (as Amended).
- Law Paper II
- Framing of Issues and Writing of Judgments in Civil Cases.
